Day 1 OWOP

First look for day 1. I sewed a knit version of the Jocole Quick Dress/Top. I used a grey on grey irregular polka dot that was in my stash. I'm not sure of the content but it seems to have rayon in it. It's very soft with pretty good recovery.

I chose to make the knee length dress option with the extended cap sleeves & scoop neck front. I elasticized the waist with 3/8" cotton swimwear elastic (I happen to have like 144 yards on a spool). I didn't make any alterations to the pattern. I tried a facing for the neckline. I interfaced it with lightweight fusible interfacing but I don't really like how it turned out. Next time I'll either turn over the edge or do neckband binding. For the sleeves and hem I serged the edges, turned them over & top stitched.

I'm fairly happy with the fit. I sewed a straight Large. Next time I will try taking out some in the shoulder to bring everything up & hopefully eleviate some of the bagginess around underarm and bust. I may try a Medium and do a FBA to see if that fixes the bagginess.

I accessorized this look with a royal blue necklace, skinny belt & MK flats for a nice pop of color.
